Da Vinci
A parametric CAD program focused on clear version history, ease of use for people and AI agents, and headless modeling. Currently in development.
Da Vinci is my own parametric CAD program, with a focus on making engineering workflows easier for people and AI agents. I'm putting particular effort into a clear version tree and tools that work both through an interactive interface and in headless sessions, without opening the app.
A model in Da Vinci's CAD workspace.
Versioning and automation
The version tree makes design iterations visible: branch off to explore an alternative, save checkpoints, and return to earlier versions of the workspace. My goal is to make that history easy to navigate and review as a design evolves.
I'm building the geometry engine in Rust, with a Svelte interface for desktop and local browser use. A Python SDK supports headless modeling and automation, producing the same editable features used in the app. This gives scripts and agents a way to work directly with the model.
Longer term, I want this to support multiple agents exploring different design branches, with people able to inspect their work and decide which changes to keep. Da Vinci is still in development; that collaborative workflow is a goal I'm building toward.
