  • Drove end-to-end R&D for the conveyance subsystem, including vibratory conveyor design and an integrated, closed-loop controller for maintaining material depth across multiple lanes using optical sensors, resulting in more than a 2× throughput increase.
  • Supervised design, build, and testing of Clean Crop’s latest Jupiter commercial machines, including FAT, SAT, and PQ processes.
  • Wrote and maintained the PLC/HMI code on the latest production machines and deployed an MQTT-based data pipeline to continuously collect realtime and historical data, accessible via an online dashboard.

Mechanical Engineer

  • Ran experimental efforts to characterize a novel approach to Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing (CRNS) for soil-moisture applications via a dense grid of low-sensitivity detectors — constructing a 30-node, subterranean grid of sensors carrying self-contained modules of neutron detectors with datalogging and communication hardware.
  • Designed, tested, and validated hardware for deployment in harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Utilized heat-mapping and other data-analysis techniques to enhance understanding of CRNS experimental data.
  • Engineered new detector architectures, including a low-cost miniature chamber and a new generation of chamber with a 30% volumetric efficiency boost.
  • Established improved manufacturing processes and tools for existing production and new detectors.
